Denise CourtenayDenise Ann Maree Tomasin Courtenay was born in London, England but emigrated to Jamaica at age 5. She attended the University of the West Indies in Barbados (L.L.B., Hons.) and concluded her studies at Norman Manley Law School where she received her Legal Education Certificate.  She was admitted to practice law in Jamaica in 1987 and worked in the Ministry of Housing, and then at Perkins Tomlinson Grant Stewart & Co..  She was admitted to practice law in Belize in 1989, and worked with W.H. Courtenay & Co. before joining Courtenay Coye LLP in 2009.
Denise has over 20 years of professional experience. Her practice areas include: Conveyancing, Commercial and Banking Law, Company Law, Divorce, Adoptions, Trusts, Estates and Succession, Landlord and Tenant and General Practice.
She is currently a Director of Lifeline Foundation (2006-Present), and was a Member of the General Legal Council (2007-2009), Chairman for Belize Elementary School (2005-2007), Board Member of the National Institute of Culture and History (2003-2008), Associate and Partner at W.H. Courtenay & Co. (1989-2008) Executive Member of the Bar Association of Belize (2002-2003), Board Member of Belize Elementary School (1998-2007), Consultant for UNICEF (1992-1994), Consultant for Commission on the Status of Women in Belize (1992-1993), Consultant for Woman Against Violence Movement (1992-1993), Partner at Courtenay Coye LLP (2009-present).

Languages: English, Spanish and French (working knowledge).
