Ashanti is a member of the Norman Manley Law School’s Principal Roll 2004 and is the recipient of several awards including the Council of Legal Education Prize for the most outstanding student over 2 years (2004), the Council of Legal Education Prize for most outstanding first year student (2003), Harney Westwood & Riegels Prize for the most outstanding overseas student (2004), Belize Bar Association Prize for most outstanding Belizean student (2004). She also received the H.H. Dunn Memorial Prize for Legislative Drafting (2003).
Ashanti holds a Certificate in Mediation Practice and Procedure awarded by the Dispute Resolution Foundation in Jamaica (2004) and has been an adjunct lecturer at the University of Belize for Business Law, Contract Law and Civil Procedure.
Ashanti currently serves as the Secretary of the Executive Council of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry, having been appointed to the post in April 2010. Ashanti formerly served as a Member of the Executive Council for the term 2009-2010.
